Ice Machine Repair: The Owner of Marathon Air is An Expert
History: Ice Machine Repair and Commercial Refrigeration Roots that Run Deep
John Schutz is the owner of Marathon Air. Prior to venturing into the service industry, John was and still is a partial owner of a Dairy Queen restaurant, so he understands the importance of reliable and cost-effective ice machine and refrigeration repair. At the same time, going back to 1991, he also owned a store in Apopka for many years, where he and his family sold restaurant equipment and supplies to many restaurants, both locally and across the country. As part of that business, John sold and installed complete restaurant refrigeration packages, from the design on paper to the opening day of many restaurants. During that work, John became familiar with all makes and models of ice machines, their peculiar problems, and best solutions. John’s family eventually took over the restaurant supply business, although he remains a partial owner. John now focuses exclusively on the service side of the ice machine and refrigeration (and HVAC) business. So he can sell, repair and install all types of ice machines, refrigeration equipment, and commercial air conditioning units.
Approach: Honesty, Fairness, and Generally a Good Guy
John is the type of guy who really wants to serve his customers well. He quite simply is never satisfied with himself until his customers are happy. He is obsessive about details. As a result, he goes beyond the call of duty and strives to over-deliver on every job. He is also truly one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. His customers like him. John is the reason that our phone most often rings with a regular customer on the other end of the line, hoping that they can reach John directly, and soon.
History of Serving Restaurant Owners and Managers
Marathon Air has many longstanding loyal customers, many of them spanning back two decades as they knew John when he sold restaurant equipment from a local store (JPs Restaurant Supply, now operating as International Restaurant Distributors in Apopka). To say we know restaurant equipment and ice machine repair is an understatement if there ever was one. Also, if you call us, John will either repair your equipment himself (the most likely scenario), or he will personally and closely supervise the work. He usually does the work himself, particularly on the commercial side of our business. This amounts to a LOT of work for John, an extremely busy guy, because 90% of our customers are businesses. He understands the demands of businesses and especially restaurants, as a small business owner catering to restaurants (and owning and managing a restaurant himself) for over 20 years.
John graduated many years ago from the University of Minnesota with a business degree. He then joined his family in their business serving restaurant owners. Not much has changed since then, except that John’s technical skills have evolved into true mastery.
Technical Skill: Ice Machine Repair That Works
John has spent a considerable amount of time working around all types of restaurant refrigeration equipment, including ice machines. As a result, he understands their inner workings about as thoroughly as anyone could. He very often knows cost-effective solutions that may not be obvious. When it comes to refrigeration equipment, John would be a very good guy to have welding your refrigeration line joints. Or considering the intricacies of your various systems and even how they work together, what maintenance they need, and what you can skip.
Licensed & Insured HVAC Contractor
John is a licensed HVAC contractor and works throughout Central Florida. Marathon Air performs all types of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning services, including ice machine repair.
Fair Pricing
The good news for his customers is that John is basically humble. He doesn’t value himself as much as others value him. So he over-delivers in service. That isn’t to say that our prices are cheap. Just that we are honest, reliable, and fair. Even better, John is an expert specifically at repairing equipment, like ice machines, walk-in and display coolers and freezers, and commercial air conditioners. So he will not suggest a replacement of any of that stuff unless you really need it.
In short, if you need your ice machine or ice maker repaired, calling John at Marathon Air would be a good move.
